Mark Charleville is a native Louisiana artist. Growing up in South Louisiana,
in West Baton Rouge Parish, Mark experienced first-hand the scenes and stories
that permeate his art.
Working in various media including water color, acrylic, painted panels and tin,
digital prints and composite laminates, he captures legends and stories of the area
and the beauty of the customs of Louisiana.
Venturing outside the Gulf States, Charleville has traveled to Venezuela to study
cave art with the University of Texas faculty and nationally recognized archeologists.
He has taught on the University level. Having worked in graphic arts positions
throughout his career, Mark has spent the last fifteen years in the broadcast industry.
Mark and his wife, Lilly, D.T. Daigle, now make their home on Muscadine Bluff
overlooking Red River outside Benton, Louisiana where they continue to
experience and record the flavors of Louisiana life.
